EH&E Founders are Members of the Team of Scientists for Harvard’s Aviation Public Health Initiative
Jack McCarthy and Jack Spengler are key members of the team of environmental, infectious disease and social scientists for Harvard’s Aviation Public Health Initiative (APHI). APHI’s mission is to study current aircraft, airline and airport practices and their impact on public health during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Their phase two report on the findings of the team’s “curb-to-curb” analysis was released in February 2021. This report focuses on the risks of SARS-CoV-2 transmission during time spent in airports and strategies to mitigate those risks. This report complements the phase one report published in October 2020, which focused on the risks of SARS-CoV-2 transmission on board aircraft (a “gate-to-gate” analysis”).
Both reports and additional information are available on the APHI website.
