Supporting Our Youth throughout COVID-19 and Beyond: Why Afterschool Providers Are More Essential Than Ever Virtual Hill Capitol Hill Briefing
Hosted by Afterschool Alliance and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America
September 23, 2020, 2:00 PM EST
While our country continues to navigate this public health crisis, Afterschool Alliance and Boys & Girls Clubs of America are ensuring all of America’s youth are continuing to learn, have access to enriching experiences, and that they feel supported by their community, knowing that when out-of-school time is all the time, afterschool providers and programs are more essential than ever.
Hear how out-of-school time programs have been at the heart of community-based COVID-19 responses and the critical services that are necessary to sustain support for our youth and families as the crisis continues into this school year.
Brief remarks will be made by Chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committee and Co-Chair of the House Afterschool Caucus, Nita Lowey.
David Shore will participate in a panel to share what we’ve learned from summer camp programs and how programs that follow non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) can significantly reduce risk to students and staff.
