Jim has over 30 years’ experience as an active member of the environmental health and safety profession, including more than 17 years with EH&E as a key member of their leadership team. Jim’s work concentrates on reconstructing complex or novel exposure events, extracting meaningful data from those reconstructions, then helping his clients make informed decisions based on that data. He utilizes and teaches Bayesian Decision Analysis and Censored Data Analysis, and is frequently called upon to perform publication review and testing of occupational exposure models.

The author of numerous professional articles in the areas of industrial hygiene, safety, risk assessment, semiconductor industry health and safety, and management of environmental health and safety programs, Jim currently holds an appointment as Visiting Scientist in Occupational Hygiene at the Harvard School of Public Health in the department of “Exposure, Epidemiology and Risk” and as a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Studies at Brandeis University. He previously served as Director of Environmental Health and Safety for Harvard University, a Compliance Officer for OSHA, and Plant/Division/Corporate EH&S Directors for a Fortune 44 and a Fortune 200 manufacturing companies. He has served on two National Academy of Science Committees as an environmental health and safety expert.
